Violinist Yu-Chien Tseng signs to Deutsche Grammophon
















Ο βιολονίστας Yu-Chien Tseng υπέγραψε συμβόλαιο με την Deutsche Grammophon

Ο 22χρονος Ταϊβανός βιολονίστας Yu-Chien Tseng υπέγραψε συμβόλαιο με τη δισκογραφική εταιρεία Deutsche Grammophon από την οποία πρόκειται να κυκλοφορήσει το πρώτο του άλμπουμ στα τέλη Δεκεμβρίου. Σε αυτό θα περιλαμβάνονται έργα των Βόλφγκανγκ Αμαντέους Μότσαρτ, Τζουζέπε Ταρτίνι, Χάινριχ Βίλχελμ Ερνστ, Φρεντερίκ Σοπέν, Πιότρ Ιλίτς Τσαϊκόφσκι και Χένρυκ Βινιάφσκι.

Ο Yu-Chien Tseng έλαβε τη δεύτερη θέση, στην κατηγορία του βιολιού, στον 15ο Διεθνή Διαγωνισμό Τσαϊκόφσκι, στη Μόσχα το 2015. Να σημειωθεί ότι στη συγκεκριμένη κατηγορία δεν απονεμήθηκε πρώτο βραβείο (γεγονός απαράδεκτο, κατά τη γνώμη μας). Νωρίτερα, τον Ιανουάριο του 2015, ο Yu-Chien Tseng είχε λάβει την πρώτη θέση στον Διεθνή Διαγωνισμού Βιολιού στη Σιγκαπούρη.

Απόφοιτος του Curtis Institute of Music, στη Φιλαδέλφεια των Ηνωμένων Πολιτειών, έχει κερδίσει επίσης, στην ηλικία των έντεκα, το πρώτο βραβείο στον Διεθνή Διαγωνισμό Βιολιού Pablo Sarasate, στην Παμπλόνα της Ισπανίας, το πρώτο βραβείο στον Διεθνή Διαγωνισμό Βιολιού Isang Yun, στην Νότιο Κορέα το 2011, ενώ το 2012, έλαβε την πέμπτη θέση και το Βραβείο Κοινού στον Διαγωνισμό Queen Elisabeth στο Βέλγιο.

Violinist Yu-Chien Tseng signs to Deutsche Grammophon

Taiwanese violinist Yu-Chien Tseng has signed a recording contract with Deutsche Grammophon. The 22-year-old musician will release his first album for the label at the end of December, including works by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Giuseppe Tartini , Heinrich Wilhelm Ernst, Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, Frédéric Chopin and Henryk Wieniawski.

A regular on the competition circuit, Tseng won second prize in the violin section of the Tchaikovsky Competition in 2015 (no first prize was awarded) and first prize at the inaugural Singapore International Violin Competition in January 2015, earning the top prize of $50,000 and a Naxos recording.

A graduate of the Curtis Institute of Music, he also won third prize in the junior division of the Menuhin Competition at the age of eleven and first prize at the Sarasate Competition at the age of 15. In 2011 he won first prize at the Isang Yun International Violin Competition in Korea and was the fifth laureate and audience award winner at the 2012 Queen Elisabeth Competition in Belgium.

Yu-Chien Tseng was born in New Taipei, Taiwan, on August 24, 1994. Studied music in Taiwan and continued at the Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia (USA) under professors Kavafian and Aaron Rosand. In 2009 he won the 10th Pablo Sarasate International Competition in Pamplona (Spain). In 2011 he won the Isang Yun Competition in Tongyeong (South Korea) and also was awarded a special prize at the XIV International Tchaikovsky Competition (as best of those in Round II who did not make the finals). In 2012 he took fifth place in the Queen Elisabeth International Competition in Brussels. He has performed with the Philadelphia Orchestra, the National Orchestra of Belgium, and the symphony orchestras of Singapore, Taipei, and Navarra among others. He has given solo concerts in cities in the USA, Europe and Asia. His début disc featuring music by French composers was released by Naxos.
